Employment Support Consultant

About Our Organisation
MEEDAC is a Community Development Program (CDP) Provider on behalf of the Australian Government. We provide a single point of contact for job seekers and employers in the Midwest Region which includes the following locations: Geraldton, Northampton, Dongara, Kalbarri, Yalgoo, Mullewa and Narngulu and Goldfields Region of Coolgardie, Kambalda, Norseman & Hopetoun.

Seeking a Professional to join our team
We have an immediate vacancy for an Employment Support Consultant to join our team in Geraldton. As a Employment Support Consultant for MEEDAC your role is to effectively deliver reverse marketing and job development creation services to job seekers and employers. To develop and implement appropriate strategies by selecting, segmenting, and targeting industries with labour needs, and promoting recruitment services to those businesses and industries of need.
Key Responsibilities
• Liaise with Case Managers/Activities Coordinator to gain an understanding of the industries and positions the job seekers are suited to and then approach appropriate employers to generate vacancies
• Conduct outgoing marketing to suitable employers and develop solid leads for employment places
• Identify and attend local networking opportunities to generate employment opportunities for candidates
• Manage vacancies attained from employers including; vacancy assessment, advertising, pre-screening and referring suitable candidates
• Undertake marketing activities to attract potential job seekers
• Monitor labour market and ensure MEEDAC responds appropriately to all competitor activities and market opportunities
• Maintain accurate records of all employer contacts and prospective employer engagement including reverse marketing calls, presentations, successful job placements and follow up contact
• Provide effective and responsive customer service
• Data entry into relevant CDP databases
• Seek out both suitable employers and jobseekers for work experience placements
• Actively mentor and monitor participants in work experience
• Facilitate training sessions on interview etiquette and techniques
• Client interviews and assessment for suitability in job placement
• Writing/reviewing resumes for job seekers
• Delivering a job readiness program to the clients on the case load
This position works with a tight team focus and will give you opportunity to not only deliver the above duties but to expand in other areas as the team requires.
Key Competencies
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the delivery of marketing and job creation for job seekers or previous work for the dole candidates
• Experience working within reverse marketing or job placement position focused on high performance
• Be self-motivated and able to work well within a team
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Confidence to engage with new and existing employers
• Proven ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with clients, peers and relevant agencies
• Ability to interpret contractual guidelines and interpret as appropriate
• Able to be confidential and respect others for their value as people and team members
• Have a `can do' attitude

Case Manager Dongara - Part Time Role

We currently have a vacancy for a Part Time Case Manager working 25 hours per week in our Dongara team. The Case Manager will work closely with JobSeekers to engage in opportunities that will assist them to become job ready by providing Job Search Training to Job Seekers in your catchment area. You will play an integral part in the journey to success for our clients as professional role models and coaches. This role would suit someone who is professional, approachable, and resilient and an excellent communicator. The successful applicant will be working under the Community Development Program but will also be developing key skills working within our Workforce Solutions team.
You will:
• Assist Job seekers to meet their mutual obligation requirements.
• Provide Training for Job Search skills to Job Seekers.
• Be able to work in a strong team environment – MEEDAC has a culture of teamwork.
• Have empathy for others and be able to come from a place of respect for their situations.
• Adhere to and work within Government and MEEDAC policy and guidelines.
• Be confident with conflict resolution.
• Be able to work alongside people with complex needs which can be at times, challenging.
• Work in tandem with our Community Liaison team to offer relevant learning experiences to Job Seekers
• Engage in MEEDAC training programs.

Assistant Cook

An Opportunity for either an experienced or 3rd year Cooks to work in our boutique hotel complex in Mullewa. This is an ideal Job Share for someone wanting to build their career in a fast-paced environment.
There will be times when you will oversee the kitchen and café allowing the head cook to take time out.
Duties will be to assist the head cook with meals preparation and ensure that café is fully catered for. As a much sought out venue for local events including weddings and celebrations, this role will offer variety as well as an opportunity for the successful applicant to engage with the local community.
The kitchen team consists of head cook, another assistant cook and yourself with help from other members of the team when required.
A driver’s licence is beneficial and use of the hotel vehicle is available when needed.
