Work associated with the project has commenced with site works and construction of retaining walls nearing completion.
The units are expected to be finished by the end of the year, allowing MEEDAC to provide a critically needed service to the Mullewa community and region.
MEEDAC was successful in receiving grant funding from the Western Australia Country Health Service to build four Aged Appropriate accommodation units in Mullewa. The project comprises two - two bedroom units and two - one bedroom units.
The architecturally designed dwellings will be available to both indigenous and non-indigenous tenants. They have been designed in consultation with Alzheimer’s Australia to provide suitable accommodation for both able body and residents suffering from restricted mobility through conditions such as dementia.
