Connectors (Bus Patrol)
In 2017 MEEDAC commenced the previously named Reach Out program in Geraldton, formerly known as the Community Patrol Services, which is an initiative of the Department of Communities. MEEDAC have been operating similar services for the past 15 years in Mullewa, Laverton and Kalgoorlie.
Now named Connectors is a prevention and intervention service, working at street level to minimize harm from “at-risk” behaviours and intervene in situations before actual harm is caused or the situation escalates requiring the intervention of Police or other services.
The approach is non-coercive and seeks to be culturally appropriate
